NOS Klein Performance Frameset Buildearly 1990's? The Performance model was one of Gary's early touringmodels, way before the big "T" company bought them out andkilled the brand. The paint is in great shape, there are few very minor , and really minor chips but that's to be expected for a frame of this age.I built it with components thathopefully do justice to its heritage.The frame measures 50 cm, seat tubecenter to center and 54 cm center to top. The top tube is 54 centerto center.The wheelset uses an almost spotlessset of Suntour Sealed Bearing hubs (silky smooth), laced to NOS ARAYArims. (700c, 36 hole, new tires)Suntour drive train, 6 speed freewheelwith an Ultra 6 chain, V-GT rear derailleur, Cyclone M II front. Notice the top mount Suntour shifters with internal cable routing.The bottom bracket is Kleins sealedbearing with a NOS crankset. The right arm is a Sugino AT, with28-36-46 rings, all new, with the middle ring being a Veulta brand. The left arm is a Sugino, new but doesn't say "AT". Thearms are 170 and it has new MKS touring style pedals, installed withpedal washers.The headset is a Shimano 600EX. Thebrakes calipers are NOS Wienmann 500 series, in black, the brakelevers are NOS Gran Sport with new DiaCompe hoods.The bars, stem and seatpost are all newand the post has a Serfas Titanium railed "ddvado" saddle. All cable and housings are new. Finally, as all good touring bikesshould have, it has a "real" (read pre-Chinese made)Blackburn rack and a Blackburn bottle cage. Feel free to make an offer!
