Duties include but are not limited to:
Dispatching Police officers. Monitor surveillance and alarm equipment. Answer all incoming phone calls to the medical center. Triage and prioritize calls for service. Record all incidents and communications during tour of duty in daily operations journal. Operate a variety of communication equipment to include the NH State Police Online Telecommunications terminal and the National Crime Information Center systems. Prepare reports using computer skills, formats, commands and common terminology of the Police Service. Perform a full range of standard and non-standard clerical and assistant tasks. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS 4 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 3. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. General
Experience:
You must have one year of general experience. General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the Telephone Operator. OR, Education:
You must have two years of education above high school. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. (Transcripts must be submitted). OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. In order to determine a combination of education and experience, first determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. For example, the position to be filled is a Telephone Operator, GS-4. An applicant has 8 months of qualifying general experience and 20 semester hours of college. The applicant meets 67 percent of the required experience and 33 percent of the required education. The applicant meets 100 percent of the total requirements and is qualified for the position. (Transcripts must be submitted). You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary in nature in an office environment. Most duties can be accomplished from a sitting position. The mental stress is much more demanding than the physical stress because of the need to respond to incidents and emergencies in a timely fashion. Must have a keen sense of hearing in responding to numerous audible/visual signals.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
