PROGRAM SPECIALIST - Research Administrative Officer

NOTE:
This is a TEMPORARY appointment (not-to-exceed 1 year).
This appointment may be renewed for additional service in accordance with Agency needs for 1 additional year.
Temporary positions offer health insurance (if the employee is expected to work at least 130 hours per month for at least 90 days) but do not offer life insurance or retirement benefits and may be terminated at any time before the expiration date.
The appointment to a Temporary position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.
This position, located in the Office of The Research & Development Coordinator at the VA Medical Center, Manchester, New Hampshire, serves as the Administrative Officer performing functions in support of the Research & Development program.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Provides specialized administrative support and personnel management to the Research & Development Program (R&D) to include unique research software such as ePromise; Provides investigators with guidance and all necessary information and forms to submit protocols for funding; Serves as primary administrative contact for investigators and is familiar with the requirements of Office of Research Oversight (ORO) and other VHA organizations, FDA, and NIH; Provides guidance to investigators on the technical and practical aspects of developing budgets for grant submissions; Independently assigns each protocol to appropriate committee or subcommittee for review; Acts as committee secretary for the facility R&D committee, etc.
; Maintains a records management program for research (research protocols, investigator records, financial data, etc.
) and prepares annual reports; Initiates and prepares all personnel actions and maintains all personnel-related records such as performance ratings, competencies, and position descriptions; Prepares and gives annual training for investigators and all other staff involved in human studies as it relates to R&D; Conducts special projects or studies to analyze, evaluate, and provide recommendations on administrative programs or issues; and Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Monday thru Friday, 8:
00am ,- 4:
30pm.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
