Housekeeping Aid Supervisor

The incumbent is a working supervisor who oversees a team of housekeeping aids, assigned volunteers, and patients who participate in a transitional work program within the Housekeeping Section of Facility Service.
Incumbent works jointly with the Housekeeping officer and other Housekeeping Aid Supervisors.
The primary objectives of the position are to ensure that the Medical Center meets all Environment of Care standards for cleanliness.
He/she supervises housekeeping aids and a linen worker in Facility Service.
He/she is responsible for planning, estimating, scheduling and supervising work accomplished by the Housekeeping Section, to include all aspects of the linen program (equipment, linens, uniforms, inspections and preparation).
The incumbent also directs the day to day activities and tasks of assigned volunteers and transitional work therapy patients.
The incumbent possesses the skills and knowledge needed to deliver a clean, hazard-free physical environment for all patients, staff and visitors.
The incumbent may be required to disinfect contaminated areas requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
The incumbent provides advice to the Hospital Housekeeping Officer to manage staffing issues, disciplinary issues, maintenance issues and other projects as tasked.
The incumbent is jointly responsible for supervisory functions in the Housekeeping Section of Facility Service along with other section supervisors.
This includes, but is not limited to, interviewing and selecting personnel, appraisals of subordinates, recommendation of disciplinary actions, approving leave requests and creating rotating work schedules.
He/she determines needs and provides training for subordinates and initiates recommendations for reassignments, promotion, performance awards and other appropriate actions.
Incumbent sets priorities for various work assignments in accordance with established schedules, and maintains flexibility to meet emergent needs.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday from 7:
00 AM to 3:
30 PM with rotating weekend coverage.
