Summary:
Supervises clerical support, primarily for intake, reception and scheduling operations. Assures efficiency and effectiveness of processing and entering referrals, answering phones in order to communicate with patients, family members, referral sources, scheduling visits for field staff and general clerical duties.
Hires and supervises Patient Services Representatives s within the VNA in the referral center, clinical area, reception area, and in scheduling.
Functions as a Patient Services Representative as needed within the VNA.
Assures adequate staffing for administrative functions within the VNA, including coverage of the front desk phones.
Maintains operations within budgeted parameters.
Provides excellent customer service and serves as a positive representative of EHS in all interactions.
Maintains workload at the established productivity standard for assigned area.
Interacts with patients regarding complaints for effective and immediate response and resolution.
Interacts and communicates professionally with co-workers and management.
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Ability to adapt to emergency situations and act according to established policies and procedures.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
Ability to endure periods of heavy workload or stress.
Ability to learn and operate a personal computer and related software.
Ability to interact with physicians and staff and participate as a team member with individuals inside and outside the department.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree required.
Previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
