To perform diversified secretarial and clerical duties in support of the scheduling activities of the New England Heart Institute. Under the general direction of the Director, Operations and the direct supervision of the Practice Manager and within established Catholic Medical Center Departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions: Schedules inpatient and outpatient appointments for tests and procedures. Makes arrangements for emergency and priority scheduling. Inputs appointment information into the computer. Ensures patients receive information and directions concerning their test and/or appointment including welcome informational packets. Informs patient that authorization from insurance HMO is needed prior to visits and/or testing. Communicates scheduling changes with appropriate staff. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Courses in secretarial science, medical terminology and word processing desired. Experience: Minimum one year secretarial experience. Prior medical office experience and experience in computer software applications including Medical Office Management and database management software experience desired.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
