_Shop Assistant (Manchester, NH)_ : We are seeking a qualified, detail oriented, highly organized individual to oversee and assist Shop Foreperson with day to day tasks involving equipment repair, equipment lists, inventory control, work order organization and general office duties as assigned. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Create, via computer system, purchase orders for items being order; update purchase orders when items are received; maintain required purchase order files as required.
Handle all parts returns/cores as required.
Assist in retrieval and distribution of parts as needed between shops and/or jobs via company vehicle.
Research and order parts as required to ensure mechanics receive parts in a timely manner.
Assist Shop Foreperson with other administrative duties as required.
Assist Shop Foreperson as needed with planning and scheduling shop work load.
Maintain inventory of required parts/supplies as determined by Shop Foreperson.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of parts rooms as required.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should have three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment and be able to work hours needed and/or on weekends. The selected individual must display a courteous and professional attitude when dealing with co-workers and the public. Classification: Year round, hourly position.
