POSITION
Responsibilities: Acting as the primary media spokesperson for the Project, based in New Hampshire. Responsibilities will include writing press materials, conducting research and communicating proactively and reactively with members of the media exclusively for the Project. Specific responsibilities include: researching issues for the development of press releases, fact sheets, position papers and web-based materials; assuming primary spokesperson responsibilities on a variety of issues as assigned; proactively providing project story ideas to editors, reporters and writers; serving as a public speaker and presenter at public events such as meetings of business organizations or other groups interested in the project.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or an equivalent degree, and a minimum of five years' experience in Media Relations or related field is required. A working knowledge of New Hampshire and New England regional media is required, and experience as a media spokesperson is strongly preferred. Additional experience requirements include: A proven record of writing and editing; a user proficiency in MS Windows Office software and technology; a working knowledge and understanding of the social media environment, and the ability to effectively utilize its various components, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr; highly effective written and oral communications skills; a demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple projects at one time under challenging deadlines; the ability to anticipate problems and provide and implement timely and appropriate solutions; strong teamwork skills; and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and outside vendors.
