GDS Associates, Inc. has an exciting and challenging opportunity with advancement and growth potential for anAssociate Engineer/Analystin the Energy Efficiency and Renewables Department based out of the Manchester, NH office. Successful candidate will work on energy efficiency and renewable energy/distributed generation projects with existing and new clients. The main responsibilities are listed below.
Assisting GDS Project Managers and consulting staff with data collection, data analysis, statistical analysis, financial analysis, report writing, and development of presentations for existing clients.
Developing and utilizing detailed spreadsheets for benefit/cost analysis, financial modeling, statistical analysis of data, etc.
Assisting with development of marketing materials and action plans for energy efficiency programs.
Assisting with development of trade ally programs, and developing training programs for trade allies.
Interacting with GDS clients and outside organizations to collect primary research data and other pertinent information (including site visits and provision of energy audit support).
Conducting in-depth interviews with consumers and trade allies.
Performing secondary research on energy efficiency and renewables issues for on-going GDS projects.
Assisting with the drafting of reports and PowerPoint presentations on technical and policy issues.
Using programs such as SAS or SPSS to perform statistical analysis of data.
Assisting with development of market research questionnaires and depth interview guides.
Writing proposals and providing other assistance targeted to bringing in new business.
The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Department (EERD) provides expertise in addressing the complex economic, engineering, scientific, and governmental issues associated with energy efficiency and renewable energy resources that impact utilities, government agencies, developers, and their customers. Commercial/Industrial energy audits and technical support, Renewable Resource Portfolio Standards assessment and development, Integrated (renewable, fossil-fueled and energy efficiency technology) Resource Planning support, feasibility and market potential studies, expert testimony, rate impact analysis, and renewable energy resource risk assessments are just a few of the valued services offered by our expert staff of policy strategists, engineers, and analysts.
Required
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Energy Policy, Statistics, Business, or Related Field.
General knowledge of Energy Efficiency/Market Transformation/Renewables field (planning, analysis, evaluation, market research).
Experience working with Collaborative Energy Efficiency Processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access).
Effective oral/written communication skills for working with customers.
Working knowledge of SAS, SPSS or similar statistical software preferred.
