We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, organized Manager of Volunteer Management in Northern New England area.
JOB
Summary: Develop and implement strategies for volunteer activities in the Region focused on the areas of volunteer leadership, chapter relations and operational volunteers. Provide guidance and direction to staff paid and volunteers. Ensure effective, cost efficient methods to recruit and retain sufficient numbers of regulated and non-regulated line volunteers to meet operational needs within assigned jurisdiction. Responsible for achievement of all National volunteer engagement standards. May assist in Board/Committee level planning. May serve as liaison to Chapter Services, National Headquarters and other external organizations related to volunteers.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business management, communications, sales or equivalent combination of related education and experience required. Minimum five years related experience including three years management experience required.
Ability to effectively implement programs and excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and implement solutions appropriately is required. Must have the ability to work independently while developing a functioning team as well as have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of staff, volunteers and donors.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including training, presentation and negotiating skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes is required.
