Position Description
The Lighting Consultant primary function will be to identify, qualify, audit and sell energy efficient lighting projects.
Partner with internal Grainger sellers to provide lighting solutions across their customer base - to help customers save money and improve their lighting systems.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Identify qualified project opportunities within a geographical territory by teaming up with Grainger Commercial, Government and Corporate sellers and their customers.
Present/Provide the GLS value proposition to end users encompassing turnkey project installation, utility practices/incentives, positive cash flow financing and EPACT certification.
Conduct accurate and complete lighting assessments by collecting the necessary existing data to recommend the proper energy efficient measures and input into a proposal generation system.
Present the lighting improvements, financial benefits and cost analysis to customers while developing a relationship of trust and securing signed projects.
Collect, organize and submit all relevant documents (contract, utility, financing, etc) to progress project status through closure.
Participate in team meetings, provide accurate forecasting and reporting and meet annual revenue and margin goals.
Position Requirements
BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years direct sales experience preferably with lighting or energy related projects with a proven track record of being a top producer.
Successful history of closing event driven project sales and developing new customers on a continual basis.
Demonstrated proficiency/competency in the following areas:
Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
Consultative and Strategic selling
Negotiations across Executive Levels of customer
Results Orientation / Sense of Urgency
Highly motivated self starter driven by hitting sales goals and objectives.
Articulate, polished presenter who can converse technically about lighting, energy savings, financing and utility/tax incentives.
Utilizes high-energy to identify, qualify and close opportunities.
Thinks creatively to overcome objections in a multi-stage closing process and across all organization levels from C suite to facility maintenance.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
