Design engineer needed to participate in the development of innovative medical devices. Work as part of a team taking concepts through development, testing, and regulatory submission. Candidate must have good analytical skills and be able to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate concepts based on risk, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, weight and cost
Generate creative solutions to design problems and demonstrate their viability
Provide engineering analysis to back up design decisions using a variety of tools with and without a computer
Transition concepts into products by utilizing 3D CAD Solid Modeling, defining requirements, selecting materials and processes, interacting with suppliers and manufacturers, and documenting the development process.
Troubleshoot problems and develop quick, effective solutions
Interact with and accommodate other disciplines such as electrical, software, industrial design, and controls
Evaluate designs through prototype testing and requirement verification
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Knowledge of various component manufacturing processes (casting, machining, injection molding, etc.) and assembly processes (welding, fastening, etc)
Must have hands-on experience with CAD design software
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail oriented
Must be able to work in an open group environment
Python programming experience a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
