Director, Digital Learning Solutions
Poised for growth, _FIRST _ is seeking a Director of Digital Learning Solutions. This newly created role will lead, develop and execute strategies for a digital learning environment creating linkage between _FIRST_ experiences and education for the purposes of fulfilling the _FIRST_ mission and our expanding programs.
Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
Exemplary leadership and experience with the STEM education arena, and project-based learning are just some of the requirements for the Director of Digital Learning Solutions. Other expectations include:
Creating a map of target Education Partners and relationships and engage these targets with the goal of using _FIRST_ content in their curricula
Developing key relationships, at national levels, with government and education entities, and with digital learning partners to help support and promote this effort
Using best practices for content, user interface, and analytics and leveraging these to develop _FIRST's_ approach
Working with external vendors and internal technology staff, implement and maintain a digital learning environment at both formal (educational institution) and informal (volunteer) levels
Education/
Experience:
Bachelor''s degree (BA/BS) required, advanced degree preferred ideally related to digital education
Digital learning and course development with a well-rounded knowledge of eLearning technology
High level knowledge of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Experience with remote training and skill development
Proven leader with strong creative problem solving abilities
Experience leading in a decentralized, national non-profit preferred
