Job Summary:
Position Summary:
Working directly with the Senior Vice President and General Counsel and other senior leaders and key directors, the Director of Risk Management will be an integral part of the Legal and Compliance Department team, ensuring delivery of high quality risk management initiatives within a work atmosphere conducive to professional growth, creativity and autonomy. Responsible for assessing, developing, and growing the Risk Management function within the Elliot Health System. Oversee and enhance current processes to ensure patient safety and improved clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities:

Develop and manage a systematic process to identify, assess and correct actual and potential losses, risks and exposures in order to reduce the number of preventable accidents and injuries, and minimize financial loss.

Collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization and in various departments to identify environmental conditions and work practices that could result in injuries/claims

Oversee a comprehensive occurrence report system, and analyze and respond to trends identified, and develop a plan to minimize and avoid future risks/claims.

Conduct or coordinate root cause analyses and consult with peers, management, administration and the medical staff leadership to develop and implement corrective measures.

In coordination with medical staff, nursing and other clinical and operational leadership, train and educate employees throughout the organization on risk management issues, concepts and programs.

Develop and maintain a system to measure the effectiveness of implemented programs.

Introduce risk management philosophies and programs to employees and medical staff.

Coordinate risk management activities closely with colleagues in legal, compliance, claims management, patient safety, clinical excellence (quality), infection prevention, nursing, medication safety/pharmacy, safety, emergency management, and other related disciplines.

Supervise direct reports in occurrence report management, patient liaison activities, safety (environment of care and radiation safety) and emergency management.
Education/Experience/Certification:

Education:Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience: Health care and Risk Management experience is required and background within an acute healthcare institution is strongly preferred.

Certification/Licensure:CPHRM preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
