Under the general direction of the Director and in accordance with standards of care and practice established by the Nursing Organization and, the specific department; the rules, regulations and/or standards established by the State Board of Nursing, the Joint Commission and appropriate specialty organizations relevant to the patient population under care, the incumbent performs the following functions:
Essential Functions:
Patient Care
Assessment:
Interviews and examines the patient and/or interviews family to obtain a comprehensive history and to obtain data about the patient's development status, behavior, cultural, spiritual, and health concerns. Assess and is familiar with resources to meet the needs of different cultures in patient population. Reviews clinical data from diagnostic studies and previous records. Based on assessment, identifies and documents patient care problems and areas requiring intervention. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to address patient needs. Reassesses patient status at established time frames and as indicated by the patient's status. Reports status and changes in status as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience:
A graduate nurse with perinatal experience preferred.
Licensure/ Certification
Current registration in the State of
new hampshire
as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certified.
If not BLS certified, must obtain BLS certification prior to completion of orientation, not to exceed 21 days from date of hire with Catholic Medical Center.
Must maintain BLS throughout employment.
Must obtain Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 3 months of hire. Must maintain Certification throughout employment.
