About New England EMS Institute - Elliot
The staff of the New England EMS Institute are all practicing Advanced Life Support providers with many years of street and educational experience. Our classes take place on various days Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm with some night classes running 6-10 pm. The Institute is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and licensed by the New Hampshire Postsecondary Education Commission and hold Accreditation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an EMS Training Institute.
About Our Facility
NEEMSI has a large classroom to facilitate the Instruction of up to 30 students and 4 breakout rooms for simulation and lab. NEEMSI uses modern equipment with a high fidelity Laerdal mannequin, ambulance simulator and 3 ISimulate monitors.
About the Job
Performs a variety of administrative support duties for the Director, New England EMS Institute and the EMS Staff and students. Coordinates registration, financial aid, payment records, and revenue and expense records for students and staff of the New England EMS Institute. Gives support and assistance to the Director, New England EMS Institute. Carries out functions in a manner consistent with total quality care, rules of the State of NH, National Registry, and U.S. Department of Education.
What You'll Do
Coordinates administrative responsibilities for EMS Education programs, including but not limited to the following: EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, and refresher training programs.
Coordinates all administrative aspects of the department in regards to services, programs, and evaluations of such programs.
Participates in the interview and orientation of all prospective Paramedic Students.
Serves as a Registrar and Student Advisor for EMS Students
Interprets and implements all rules and regulations surrounding the management of federal student loan programs with SALLIE MAE Corporation.
Coordinates approved loans with finance, students, and SALLIE MAE and is responsible for the development of student budget and packaging policies for students in the New England EMS Institute programs.
Counsels students and families about financial aid application procedures, determines and requests required documentation, evaluates financial need for assistance, verifies the appropriate documentation such as federal income tax returns, awards and notifies students of their eligibility in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Finalizes files and submits loan application/documents and Grant batches for payment, monitors and tracks disbursements, prepares pro-rata calculations for students who withdraw or are dismissed, and reports withdrawn students to lenders and guarantees refund monies to appropriate agencies and federal program.
Responsible for the successful management of SKIPJACK for NEEMSI. Submits tuition payments and reports to Finance on a daily basis.
Assists the Director with review and development of annual school catalog/educational calendar, and budget.
Works closely with the Clinical Sites Coordinator to ensure students meet the necessary requirements prior to beginning any clinical rotation, and eligibility for the National Registry examination process.
Assists in maintaining national accreditation with CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs), and local accreditation with State of MA Office of Emergency Medical Services.
Assists in the preparation and/or reviews lecture materials for EMS educational program accuracy.
Works closely with Department of Education, and other internal and external education related organizations.
Participates in the assessment, development and implementation of New England EMS Institute's policies and procedures.
Evaluates state grant rosters for student eligibility and approves funding based on need.
Oversees NEEMSI's default rate reductions and conducts all loan entrance and exit interviews. Assists in the annual school financial aid audits, and program reviews.
Prepares and submits weekly payroll and check requisitions for the New England EMS Institute.
What You'll Need
Education: Associate's Degree in Business Management or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years related experience required. EMS background preferred.
