Cardiology Technician IV - Echocardiography Pediatric Cardiology Per Diem
ResponsibilitiesActs as a technical resource in adult and pediatric echocardiographyOversees technical procedures and quantitative portions of echocardiography reports, and coordinates inpatient work flow to ensure safe and effective patient careOrients all new echocardiography laboratory technicians in all clinical areas, instruct technical and professional staff in current practices.
Maintains a high level of technical skills of the Cardiopulmonary Technologist - Echocardiography LaboratoryOversees the daily operation of the echocardiography laboratory and directs work flow to ensure safe and effective patient careEvaluates echocardiography studies performed in the laboratory and assures technically adequate exams by providing necessary expertise and instruction to obtain difficult views when necessaryDismisses inpatients/outpatients after determining that their echocardiography exams are technically adequate and direct technicians to recall a patient for further views in order to a complete a studyDevelops and implements a continuing education program, focusing on identified areas where improvement is neededAssists writing, updating, and maintaining orientation or procedure manual for different areas of expertise in the echocardiography laboratoryTrains and orients new employees and provides necessary assistance and education materials, articles, etcto assist staff in preparing for RDMS certificationActs as primary instructor for trainees from outside institutionsProvides information regarding the condition of equipment, and acts as alternate contact and resource person to Bio-Medical in the absence of the chief echocardiography technologistProvides input regarding performance levels of staffPerforms other duties as required or assigned.
Shifts can include full or half days.
Qualifications Associates Degree with 3 years of cardiac echo experience required.
Required Licensure/Certifications RDMS certification in adult, pediatric, and fetal echocardiography.
BCLS certified.
Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
