Summary: At the direction of the supervising physician/s and/or senior genetic counselors, the genetic counselor will provide genetic counseling to individuals or families, coordinate screening and diagnostic testing, and provide appropriate follow-up. Assist physicians during consultations and diagnostic procedures, as needed. The genetic counselor will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching.
MINIMUM EDUCATION &
Experience: Master's degree with major study in Medical Genetics or a related field such as nursing from a recognized college or university, or equivalent experience. Board certification/eligibility in Genetic Counseling by the American Board of Medical Genetics or the American Board of Medical Genetics is required. Excellent communication skills required.
